Overview

JapanCalc (“we”, “our”, “the site”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected when you use japancalc.com and how it is used.

Summary: We do not collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information (PII). All calculator tools run entirely in your browser — your inputs are never sent to any server.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No account registration or login system
• No email addresses or contact forms that store data
• No calculator inputs — all computation is client-side only
• No personally identifiable information of any kind
• We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes

Analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are most visited, which countries visitors come from). Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first and does not use cookies, does not fingerprint users, and does not track individuals across sites. No consent banner is required for Cloudflare Web Analytics under GDPR.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure site performance and understand search traffic. GA4 may use cookies to distinguish users. Visitors from the EU and other GDPR-regulated regions can disable GA4 tracking through their browser’s cookie settings or by using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked below.

Advertising — Google AdSense

JapanCalc displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to japancalc.com and/or other sites on the internet.

For visitors from the EU and other GDPR-regulated regions, Google provides GDPR-compliant consent management. All visitors can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Cookies and Local Storage

JapanCalc itself does not set any cookies. We use the browser’s localStorage to remember your language preference (English or Japanese) between sessions. This data stays in your browser and is never transmitted to any server.

JapanCalc does not sell or rent personal data. We do not collect personal data through our tools (all calculations run in your browser), so there is no personal data to disclose or delete. Third-party advertising cookies are governed by Google’s policies — manage them at adssettings.google.com.

Children’s Privacy

JapanCalc does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
